Intramural Open Competition Update

Join us for our Intramural Open Competition Feb. 28 – Mar. 17, 2025, and experience a community event like no other!

The first round draft is completed and team captains are working hard to fill out the remaining spots on their roster, build their comms plan, and announce their official team names (that is, except team 2)!

how do we earn points for our team?
  • Completing the workout and logging your score in SugarWOD (1 point)
  • Presenting your certificate for completing the judge’s course (5 points)
  • Mini-challenge participation (various, see below)
  • Finding Mack the Kraken – Scavenger hunt winner (10 points)
  • Attending FNL (1 point)
  • Dressing in the theme of the week (1 point)
  • Throwdown winners (3, 2, 1, points respectively)
  • Weekly spirit award (10 points)

Themes

  • Week 1: Decades Night
  • Week 2: Movie Night
  • Week 3, the finale: WWE Night

Weekly challenges start on Tuesday and run through the following Monday

  • Week 1: Tuesday, Feb 25th – Monday, Mar 3rd
  • Week 2: Tuesday, Mar 4th – Monday, Mar 10th
  • Week 3: Tuesday, March 11th – Monday, Mar 17th

Weekly challenges

  • Most calories accumulated on any machine: ski, bike, or row (3, 2, 1, points respectively)
    • Photo evidence will need to be submitted to your team captain
  • Team with the most classes attended (3, 2, 1, points respectively)
  • Post on your social media and tag the gym: 1 point for each
    • Wearing your CFM swag somewhere besides the gym
    • Pose with your Favorite cut of meat, fruit, and/or vegetable
      • Up to 3 points if you post from each category each week
    • Pose with a healthy meal you either cooked at home or ordered your favorite restaurant in town
    • Be active anywhere outside a gym; walking, biking, paddling, playing sports, vigorous cleaning, yard work, etc
    • Perform a body weight row, a pull up, or muscle up on anything but a pull up bar
    • Perform an overhead squat using anything but a piece of gym equipment
    • ”Anything but a gym bag” show up for class with your gear in anything but an item intended for that purpose 
    • “Anything but a water bottle” show up for class hydrating from anything but an item intended for that purpose
      • If you make a mess, however, expect to lose points!

Intramural/Open Prep Clinic – Olympic Weightlifting

Don’t forget to sign up for our Olympic Weightlifting Clinic, Saturday, February 15th from 11am-1pm. The clinic will cover all-things snatch and clean and jerk! Perfect your technique and barbell cycling before the competition begins!
