Do you have a consistent bedtime routine?
Consistent is the key word here.
Do you have a routine that gets you into bed at the same time every night? Or is each night a mysterious concoction of endless doom-scrolling, anxious thoughts, and interrupted sleep?
Having a consistent bedtime routine is a nonnegotiable habit. It’s just as, if not more, important than your habits around nutrition and exercise. Sleep is the foundation of your health, and when it’s dysregulated, it can lead to disruptions in all other areas of your health.
Don’t have one? Start with some small steps:
-stay off your phone at least one hour before bedtime
-if possible, turn off harsh overhead lights throughout the house and stick to warm lighting.
-find a calming activity to do before bed: reading, writing, meditating, prayer, etc…
What works for you??
